Leaked Specifications of Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Revealed

Google is set to unveil its next-generation smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, along with new wearables on October 4. Ahead of the event, a well-known tipster has leaked the key specifications of the Pixel 8 series, giving smartphone enthusiasts an idea of what to expect. According to the leak, both devices will be powered by the Tensor G3 SoC and will feature 10.5-megapixel selfie cameras. Additionally, they will have an IP68 water resistance-rated build. The Pixel 8 is rumored to come with a 6.2-inch display, while the Pixel 8 Pro will sport a 6.7-inch screen. This leak aligns with previous rumors and leaks about the upcoming devices.

Evan Blass, a reputable tipster, leaked the specifications of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro through a comparison promotional chart on X (formerly Twitter). The leak suggests that the new smartphones will share some similarities with last year’s Pixel 7 and Pixel 7a. Both devices are expected to be equipped with the new Tensor G3 chip.

The Pixel 8 is said to feature a 6.2-inch Actua display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Pro model will boast a 6.7-inch Super Actua screen with the same refresh rate. The Pixel 8 is rumored to sport a dual rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with autofocus. It will also offer up to 8x SuperRes zoom. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to come with a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and another 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. Both devices are expected to feature a new 10.5-megapixel front camera sensor.

The Pixel 8 series is rumored to include fast charging capabilities and offer up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge. They will also feature in-display fingerprint sensors and support face unlock for biometric authentication. In addition, the Pixel 8 Pro is said to include a thermometer. Like the Pixel 7 series, the upcoming models will have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The official hardware launch event for the Google Pixel 8 series is scheduled for October 4 at 10:00 am local time (7:30 pm IST). The event will also mark the debut of the Pixel Watch 2 during the ‘Made by Google’ event.
